  • Apolyton Edition tech chart?

Is there a tech chart for the Apolyton Edition?

  • #2
The tech tree is exactly the same as the original game at the moment. You can see a small branch of the tree in the great library window for each advance.

I've honestly never even played the poly mod. Is it worth downloading?

Last time I played CTP2 was maybe 3 years after it came out and the AI was just total crap. I got around that by playing mostly MP but then the number of players dwindled until that was impossible.

It's the Apolyton Edition not a mod and you can download it here.

I downloaded it but I'm having trouble getting the Apolyton Edition to work. I honestly have never had CTP2 installed on my Vista Machine so I can't install poly edition over the existing install as suggested in the read me. I no longer have my old CTP2 disk so how do I go about installing CTP2 on a Win Vista Machine?

The problem is that you need the CD to play the game, anyway. The Activision CTP2 source code EULA says that we are not allows to modify it so that it can be used without the original game. So we are not allowed to remove the CD-check.

Modifying the source code means accepting the EULA, which is actually a promise and we should keep it, since Activision was very generous by releasing the source code at all.

Well of course, you can compile the source code on your own, only the Final configuration has the CD, but not the Release configuration.

On the other hand you can pick up a new CD they shouldn't be such expensive.

I lost the CD years and years ago.
