  • Problem installing Apolyton Pack

I have CtP2 and am trying to install the Apolyton Pack.

I installed the 1.11 patch and Modswapper.

The Apolyton Pack readme says to write Debugslic=No in \ctp2_program\ctp\userprofile.txt.

    I don't have such a folder.

    I have \ctp2_program\ctp\

in the ctp folder there is no userprofile.txt.

There is a folder named dll and a folder named save.
    Then there are files;
    anet2.dll, anet.inf, appstr.txt, bootserv.txt, civpaths.txt, ctp2.exe, disclaimer.txt, mss16.dll, mss32.dll, MSVCP60.DLL, texture.dat.

This is the the Xplosive version of the game.
    Does that matter?

Do I just need to create a userprofile.txt file?

userprofile.txt won't be generated until you start the game once.

      Thanks.

I found that out after playing the game without installing the mod.
When I finished I decided to take another look and...the user file was there.

I set debugSlic=0. Then I tried to unzip the apolyton pack to the Call to Power directory.
It wants to overright the original ctp2_data file because they both have the same name.

Should I do that, or should the mod file name be changed?

          You should let it overright.

Before you had a chance to answer I tried changing the name of the mod file to
ctp2apoly_data and placed it in the Call to Power 2 folder.

When I clicked on modswapper it showed the original version and the apolyton option. I clicked Apolyton and the game opened.

So, am I OK this way or am I not really using the mod with it set up this way?

            Thanks for your help.

Not sure about that. I would expect if the files of the Apolyton Pack aren't in the target folder, that it doesn't show up in ModSwapper. Actually, the files go into the ctp2_data folder, otherwise the game wouldn't find them. The Apolyton Pack uses its own files, so it doesn't overwrite anything in the target folder.

If you want to figure out whether everything works compare the number of Civs you can select in the standart game and in the Apolyton Pack game, if you have more then you a fine.

I just reinstalled the way that you said, by unzipping the apolyton pack into the Call to Power folder and let it overwrite the files.

Both versions show up in the mod manager and when I start a new game they both offer the same civ options, 3-8 civs.

Not the number of players, the number of civs you have to choose from.

                    The Apolyton has more civs.

So, the current install is working properly.

                    Thanks.

I'll see if this fixes my install problems.
