  • Files for mp!

Hi I just wonder what files I need to be able to play mp with people.
I already have the latest server.dat(with 3 servers!) and the latest AE version and I wonder if I need something else. I am using Windows XP.

Original game with 1.11 Activision patch is better for MP.
Also new dll's from here: http://apolyton.net/forums/attachmen...postid=3719605
And the servers.dat you already have.

It means that the latest AE version is not multiplayer compatible?

No, but you might find more serious bugs.

It appears that the new AE-version doesn't work generally as MP. I really tried all different kind of MP (via Internet, via IPX, or as Hotseat Game) -Nothing works (it's pity!).
When I start as hotseat game, the game starts and I can see my settler, but there is no task-menu and no possibility to do something.
When I start a game with two different computers, the "client" will cut off always at this moment as the game data will transmit.

          Have somebody an idea?

I told you There is no one to test MP so there are bound to be bugs.

For Hotseat games, it appears there is a bug when you first start the game. If you press the "/" key the interface will reappear and you can play normally from there.

Email games should also work fine now.

I think there are some people like me and my friends who would test MP-Games, but unfortunately it didn't work. Your tip regarding interface was good, but also vainly. Nothing happened when I pressed a key or wanted to move the unit.
Email games are too time-consuming for tests.
              Nervertheless thank you!

Strange, it works fine for me once I press "/" twice to bring the interface back.

There is only one person working on the source code right now, so any bugs you do report (like what you already reported) will take some time to be fixed, if they can be fixed at all.

When I press "/" comes the interface also back, but nothing happened after this. The game didn't react when I push a button or when I tryed to move the unit.

It is great that someone fix the bugs. Unfortunately I am absolutely unable to fix bugs. So that we can only testing. But the MP-testing finish when I start the game.
