  • No chat in PBEM?

    Hi there,

at the moment, I play my first PBEM-Game of CTP2 (AE) in my life. Its fun! I tzried to send my opponent a chat-message with my turn, that didn't work. Is there no chat-function in the PBEM-mode?

    Thanx!

If it doesn't work then apparently no there isn't chat in PBEM.

But can't you just chat in the email you send each turn?

Did you find any other bugs bastain? How far are you into the game so far?

Sure...we can chat it the mail, anyhow ingame-chat would be nicer.

We are at the beginning of the game. I recognize a little "bug". One of my town got a population of 10.600 and the number on the map is 32.

Another "bug": We started another PBEM-game with the last version of AE and as we updated to the latest version, the label of the buttons at the end of the turn changed. Normaly they are labeled with "Spiel beenden" (german for quit game) and "ok". After the update the labels changed to words wir no meaning for that context.

Since we started a new game with the latest version, the labels are back to normal.

Probably you are mixing that up with the pop points, each city displays on the map a size lets 2. In the city manager it would say something between 20,000 and 29,999. And the number on the empire tab just sums up all the pop points on the map.

If you want to continue a game saved with a previous version you have to reload slic. To do this open the chat window and enter: /reloadslic

The Number is shown on the mainmap. My capital-city got a "normal" 5 and a new founded city has a 32.

Do we both have to reloadslic?

No, only this has only be done once per game and update.

I see, and no problem here, the number at the front is your city size, the number at the back are the turns needed so that your city will grow. Looks like your capital will grow next turn.

If that screenshot is your PBEM game, your opponent may have just seen where you are on the map.

Of course he could load the save himself and cheat anyway... maybe we also need password protection

Yes...I would like to see that, but more I would like to choose how I want to continue the game...as PBEM, LAN, Hotseat....that would be nice.
