thanks for that servers.dat file thing...it works on my comp...but when my friend uses it...it just sits on the waiting for server....he has XP....is there some kinda compatability issue here?

Possibly... He might try running CTP2 in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows.

Look at the Compatibility tab in the properties of the CTP2 executable (That's right-click, properties in explorer).

The executable you want is:
[Your CTP2 directory]\ctp2_program\ctp\ctp2.exe
