  • Call to Conquest - Interesting PIC

    Howdy all,

I haven't been slapped around this much since the last SP Tournament game that used the Cradle mod!

Testing out my first game using the CtC mod, and while I was expanding and conquering well in the beginning, I'm really getting smacked up now. Check this out...

I'm starting to lag in science despite a couple of science pacts, I'm showing reasonably well on the economic graph but can't really seem to save much money to steal advances. I'm about in the middle on the power graph.

All of the other civs seem to be at peace, and they're all ganging up on me!!! I love it!

    Cheers,
    Shadow

The only thing wrong with that picture is the AI could make 3 full stacks there but didnt.

I would rather like to know whether, you are at war with the green and if you are at war with the green, whether the city still belongs to you in the following turn.

Surprisingly enough (or perhaps a poor reflection of the mod), I've never lost the city, despite having it thoroughly surrounded by waring nations (as above) for over 50% of the duration of its existence.

I've managed to swindle my way into everything short of an alliance with the most powerful civ, and have received a few advances from them. So now I find myself with tanks and jet-bombers, and at peace with the only other civ that has them.

So I'm finally starting to get back on top of things...

I guess each individual stack felt it wasnt worth it, attacking the mountain and walled city, dying for the greater goal of capturing the city, maybe right, especially if you had less defensive cities.

That does sometimes happen with the various mods, when the AI can easily capture a city such as that and doesn't do it. In the screenshot above, it should make a second 12-stack, attack with that, and then the second 12-stack would definitely take the city.

Unless it's an important and remote city, I'm sure a human player would do just that.
