CTP2-Multiplayer

Hi,

I wanna play CTP2 again via internet with my friend. We tried Civ3, but its not that good...got nice ideas, but the gameplay of CTP2 ist much better.

But we tried CTP2 some time ago but got many problems seeing each other in the lobby via the internet. I found an new server-list, but we got the same problems.

Is there a possibility to play the game without problems via internet?

Is there someone working on a Linux-port?

Hmmm...no answers. I read some threads now, and it seems, that there is a server.dat with some working servers.

Do I have to open special ports in the firewall so that the lobby-connection is working right?

Is it possible to play a direct-ip game without a server?
