I played CTP@ on Windows 98 with no problem but since I have Windows XP Home the game kept crashing I tried compatability mode with no improvementt I went to the source code forum and we tried the source code with same results crashing to desktop and the loaded files would not play I decided to uninstall the game at which time there were files that were still present in the CTP directory which I removed manually I only have an empty directory of Activision and now when I install the game crashes immediately to the desktop With the patch and no mods Is there something in the registry that needs to be removed Would it help if I install the program to another directory Are there some hidden files in the blank directory thats preventin proper install I also noticed that the game install to 99.6% and the suddenly jumps to 100%? I need help as I cant play thwe game

Need Help

Finally got the game to play reinstalled it,addedt the ctp2English patch and the latest playtest 06/28/04 It now plays for 40 moves or so and then crashes to the desktop Loading a saved game randomly works Here is the crash text

Did you try to load a saved game with a different version from what you saved it with?

If youre using the sourcecode patch then report the error log in the sourcecode forum, im sure they can help.

He already did try that . At the moment, we don't have a fix.

It is difficult to find out what the problem is, because it is not reproducible. So, I suspect that the main problem is in the Windows set-up. But other then trying to reinstall Windows, I do not have any advise to offer at the moment.

Investigation of the crashing piece of code does not indicate anything particular, other than that something must have gone wrong in the past. Insufficient memory? A corrupt font file? It could be anything.
