  • Pillaging of goods

I saw a barbarian pillaging a land without improvements, but with goods. It was a Cradle game - I don't know if that matters. The icon was still there, but the stats of my town showed that I lost the advantages of that good. It is this a one turn thing, or the damage is permanent?

the pillage action on the good itself sounds a bit odd - maybe another civ had built an improvement on the tile?

But while an enemy unit is present on a square that you collect resources from, its normal that you stop recieving those resources - it will remain that way until the unit moves away(or you destroy it).

Goods can be pillaged, but the loss of their benefit is for a set number of turns. Martin willl have to fill you in on how long because it is part of his GoodMod setup (which is part of Cradle)

It was near my town and the sign of pillage (video and acustic) was there.

Doh, I forgot about that. Well, in Civ 2 you could see that very clearly...

hexagonian - I hope that I don't sound too dumb, but who is Martin? And how I can talk with him?

          Wait and see.

For your other questions goods in Civ2 give a terrain bonus. That's not true for CTP1 out of the box, but it can be modded so that it has terrain boni from goods. Unfortunatly in CTP2 you cannot give goods a terrain bonus like in CTP1. The solution in GoodMod and in Cradle as well since it uses GoodMod is to place an invisible tile improvement onto the terrain tile with the good on it. Those tile improvements can be pillaged, given someone owns the tile. When a tile with a good is pillaged the according good improvement is removed, when this happens my slic code place the tile improvement again onto this tile. The tile improvent needs its normal build time to finish. Currently it is for all goods in Cradle and in GoodMod ten turns construction time. So after ten turns after the pillage the effect is restored.
