  • Anyone need a copy of CtP2?

Just as I was convinced that new copies of this game were no longer being sold anywhere (the last shop I knew about stopped selling them 6 months ago), I found a HUGE stack of CtP2 CDs at my local software store. Must have been at least a 100 copies

I don't know if they found a lost batch or there's been a lot of demand for the game or anything, but they have plenty of copies to go around now. And this was only one branch of a major franchise, so presumably every branch has at least the same number of copies for sale (or they would have distributed the copies more evenly -- this is by no means their biggest or most profitable store).

Anyway, for the Dutchies out there looking for a copy: I'm talking about the Media Markt, and they sell the game for €3.99. For anyone outside the Netherlands, I would be willing to help you out by buying a copy and mailing it to you, providing you pay upfront (I sent Solver two copies several months ago but still haven't seen my money ). The price would be €3,99 + shipping (which varies depending on where it should be shipped to, but probably would come down to about €1-2).

The copies are completely new, not second-hand or anything. Of course, they're unfortunately a budget version (of the 'Explosiv' series), so they come in a DVD case without paper manual or reference chart. The text on the casing is in Dutch, but the game itself comes in 4 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, IIRC).

Should anyone want me to ship them a copy, contact me by email, PM or ICQ.

Atleast I have my copy. But what do we do if some programmer wants to help out with the source and can't get a copy?

Well, that was the main reason for starting this thread I've heard of quite a few people who were looking for a copy but couldn't find any.

Well looks like that now again new copies are sold. I saw such an explosiv version on Ebay for 18 Dollars or so. Well if you want a German version I recommend Ebay there you should get it for one Euro inclusive manual tech poster and box. And if you think you can't trust the people at Ebay then think about it you just lose one Euro and maybe the shipping costs and that is definatly worth the risk.

I looked into a computer game store on my way home and they had 2 copies of CTP2 (CD only in a DVD box) for CDN$18.00.

Interesting the CTP is no longer on the Activision web site.

                  Locutus,

I need original CD, if you have any!
(Yes, I see, 5 years later we have the same problem! Maybe it's time for Activision to decide: SELL or leave it FREE!)

Just for information: I have "original CD" from Russsian reseller company "Fargus". But, with this CD Apolytion Playtests don't work!

Hi Boban, did you get any error messages?

"Hi Boban, did you get any error messages?" - Yes, of course! Message like "Put your Call to Power 2 CD in your CD-ROM drive", or something like that. But, it's strange that I couldn't notice light on DVD drive (so, I am not sure that programm tried to access DVD drive AT ALL!)

A quick google search shows the "Fargus" name attached to quite a few illegal copies of games.

Are you sure your copy is legal?

Sorry!!! Call to Power (1) was by "Fargus". The second, CTP2 is from "Navigator" (Russia).
How can I be sure? The game was in the proper package, translated, and for playing needed CD in drive. No ANY "crack" directory, "patches" or similar.

Translated to Russian? If so then it's not legal, since the game was never officially translated into Russian.

Really?? It's a NEWS for me! I always thought that translation of this game was official! Now it's clear why I can not buy this game here, in Russia!

Anyway - I need an original CD! "Amazon", "ebay" adn others don't support shipping to Russia. Can anyone help me?
