  • Things that I have pondered

I've had a few questions that have always bugged me, so now is the time to lie down on the Poly couch and let go:

If you capture an enemy city that has an advance (say Aristotle's Lyceum), do you get the academies and conversely do they loose the academy per city? What happens when it's obsolete, do you lose the academies? Does it give a double bonus if you then build academies?

Can you 'double pirate' a route? For example, if I have a stack of 3 on an enemy trade route, if I ungroup the 3 and have each individual sprite pirate the route, does it quicken the route being rendered useless?

This stuff doesn’t keep me up at night, but I’m curious as to this and life’s other great mysteries!

Wonders like Aristotle's Lyceum don't actually give you Academies in all your cities, they give you the effect of Acadamies in all your cities: you get the increased Science output (without the support cost of the buildings). And yes, that effect is transferred to the new owner when the city with the wonder is captured.

And no, double pirating doesn't work, you can only pirate with 1 ship per route.

      Thanks for the info, Locutus!

Maybe next time I'll just come to you, the great oracle of Apolyton!

      Again, thanks!

Well, wasting 5 years of my free time on this game's gotta account for something
