  • Game crash

I have been playing the 27 civ world map on Apol2 mod

Game crashes during the ai turn at the same year at the exact same time the ai is on the same computer opponents turn

I have increased the time slice

    Lowered hardware acceleration

    Tried compatibility mode

    Reloaded slic

    Loaded from an older save

    Loaded from autosave

    Increased number of players

Still i get the same results, please advise

I already experienced this kind of crashes with the SAP2, the crash resulted from the diplomod 3.6 trying to create a new civ after a city revolted.

I solved the issue with a reloadslic after I loaded an older saved game. I know you have already tried these solutions but perhaps will it helps the others to find out what is going on.

Yea im thinking thats whats happening is there any way to tell the game to stop making new civs from city revolts? Just let the barbarians take over and let that be that? If so i could try that tweak and post results.

I think that the older Diplomod 3.5 does not have this issue, I don't remember where you can find it though, try to download the Cradle mod, perhaps is it using the older version.

I tried swapping out the apol dip slic with the craddle one but that didnt work either. I think we can rule out that the formation of a new empire is whats causing the trouble. I used the cheat menu to cycle through the other empires and all their cities are happy. But on the same token i turned off the ai and ran a few turns with no troubles so it is something thats happening during the ai's turn.

When I experienced the repeated crashes I am speaking of in my previous post I solved the problem with a reloadslic. I don't understand why it does not work for you.

                    Super Crashed

If anybody can fix this, I owe them tons!!!

I did have a 1.4ghz AMD athalon with NTFS and ran CTP 2 on it and it ran flawlessly. HOWEVER, I bought a 3.06ghz P4 and I still run NTFS on it and when I installed CTP2 straight from the disk, the game crashes. So, I tried making compatability to Win 95. I have Win XP Pro. No Luck. I even tried formatting a partition of a hard drive to Fat 32 and intalled there. No luck. I did compatability before I installed and then after, no luck. I turned off the hyperthreading feature in my bios, no luck.
Now for the crash. When I try and execute the game from either a shortcut or the .exe itself, immediately the game does not start and an error report window appears. This happens no matter what I've done in the above. I have the patch for the game installed and trying the game without mods first. Anybody, please help.

Sorry tyrantpimp, I have seen that you had replied to this thread a few minutes ago only.

Are you still experiencing the same problem?

If so, tell me and I will send you a private message.
