crash at startup

I just loaded CTP on my new system (850 Duron, 256 mem, Diamond Sealth
III video card). It seemed to install properly, but when I hit play itcrashes and says " CICCTP caused an invalid page fault in module CIVCTP. EXE at 017f:004a1689 "

Is it the game itself or is my new system not compatible somehow?
