This is most serious when large amount of troops die in military operation. Think about Vietnam, Korea, it make sense doesn't it.

War unhappiness is crap! It should be influenced by your government type. Only in Democracy should it get anywhere near as severe as it does.

I play pbem only, and in one game i have a war unhappiness of a whopping -5.3! My ability to counter-attack is hindered greatly as i now have to build everything other than units with which to defend my civ! Thank you Craptivision for kicking the underdog in the guts by tilting the playing field dramatically towards the stronger, which in this case is also the aggressor

All i can suggest is - play pbem. Get a real challenge!!

        Well,

In the french manual they say that unhappyness occur when troops leave cities or when casualty hapen ! Does it mean that if a city is one a route, each time armies goes throught it, war unhappyness goes up ! ?

I say that because one my current game, I suffer no casuality and I have not produce troops for years. The only thing I do is to move my armies.
