  • Can squares blackened by pollution be terraformed?

Unfortunately, those black squares have started showing up in a PBEM game I'm in.

We are all making efforts to reduce pollution, but in the meantime I'd like to know if I can terraform the black squares back to healthy ones. Also, if a river is on one of those squares, will it still be there after terraforming?

    Thanks for any advice.

You can terraform them once you have discovered conservation (I think). I don't usually have pollution problems because I build cleaners before polluters or immediately after them, so I'm not 100% sure about the tech. And I think the rivers stay.

You definitely can and it is mandatory if you ever want to use them again.
