Apolyton Civilization Site
The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.

Have a friend running it on a AMD 300. Not sure about celeron though.
Do seem to remember someone having problems running CTP and having to change their display color settings/size. I am running true color 24bit/1024x768 for win98, and 800x600 for CTP display.

This is way off topic, but have u had problems running anything else with AMD chip? Its motherboard/processor upgrade time here and looking into using amd processor.
Well, i can tell you that running CTP with anything lower than 300 mhz celeron will be not playing at all. The game will run ok i suppose under 640 x 480 but the load/save times will be ridiculous.
I have a 350 PII myself and i complain all the time
I guess i have become dependant on my university's computers....
Of course, this will be no problem if you like to be the "iron man" heh.
arrrghhhh the 700 PIII ...

I have a 500 celeron with 128MB Ram and working CTP at 1024/768 and it works pretty fine except when it comes to dealing with the space screen, seeing all those units and cities in space + clouds + all the things on the ground... When I come the that timeline, I usually change the graphics settings with animated goods or something like that. Oh I also have a P166 with 64MB Ram and CTP runs a little slow at 1024/768, I guess I'll take the resolution down a little before I get to space

I have a P3 500 and it runs CTP with no problems. I couldn't even get it to load completely on a P2 233. No idea why, but even Activision said to give up.
60 meg, 20g hd, but it was an Aptiva, and I think it may have had something to do with the video card. Oh, well.
I have a P1, 166, also an Aptiva with 32 meg and 12g hd, wouldn't load on that either.
I have found several games that wouldn't load on those machines. The graphics card was soundblaster compatible, but, like I said, wouldn't even install completely.
I've got it running on a couple of overclocked systems (a K6-2 and a Celeron,) both with 64MB initially, although now 256 and 384 respectively. I don't think that its necessarily the processor... maybe some odd motherboard problem?
Forster, how much Ram does your P2 233 have? I'm quite impressed that it doesn't work, wasn't CTP supposed to be able to play at a minumum of 233? (even if my 166 works)
