  • Hexagonian Query on Global Settings

Another question for all who have played the game with the Medieval/Modern Mod...
What global settings do you find to offer the most interesting game

    World size
    Trade Goods (Many-Few, Uniform-Diverse)
    Wet-Dry
    Warm-Cold
    Continents-Islands
    Ocean-Land

I'm interested in hearing input on this, as it might offer some differences in the level of challenges within the game. In my current game I had one other civ on my continent, and I took it out fairly quickly. One civ did manage to land a stack of 6 units on my continent and it took a city - however, the city was back in my hands within a couple of turns.

My global settings reflect a preference for a very resource-competitive world and one in which there is a lot of potential contact with other civs. I usually employ 20-30 civs in a game

    World size (small or average)
Trade Goods (abundant but not many, Diverse)
Wet-Dry (more toward the wet - 70% water)
Warm-Cold (in the middle; I like the diversity)
Continents-Islands (about 3/4 to islands.. the earths continents are islands)
Ocean-Land (again, more ocean; some 70-75% is ocean and seas)
