  • One City Challenge - Impossible

I have tried a few times and in my opinion...

You cannot win the One City Challenge on Deity with the new AAIPs.

The One City Challenge is such a distortion that I believe a decent AI should never allow you to win it. Thus, I must use this space to pay great homage to Wes and the others who created the AAIPs.

Has anyone been able to win the OCC on Deity with the new AAIPs?

    Hi pchang!

Forgive me the -perhaps silly- question, but: What is the one city challenge?

    Greetings from Dani

      Dani,
The One City Challenge is to win Civ, SMAC, or CTP (or any other Civ derivative) by only building one city. If you capture a city you must disband either that city or your other city. Kinda tough, but doable even on Deity because the AI is sooooooo stupid. WesW and Nordicus have rewritten the AIP files (AI Personality files?) so that the AI is not so stupid.

      Big Dave

So... Has anyone ever beaten the One City Challenge with the new AIPs?

The one city challenge seems like it would be extremely difficult to do on civ 2. On Ctp, there's no way (imho).

The OCC map in my first Apolyton Map Pack was pretty easy to beat but I haven't tried it with the new AIPs. When Wes' new Med Mod is done, I'll try it with that to compare. Maybe it is time to make a new OCC specific map.

              Wes:
I have to side w/ Skorpion. With the original settings, you could win the One City Challenge. Of course, now that you and Nordicus have modified the AI behavior, you can't win anymore.
