Oh, the power of the turn.
Earlier this week we had a crisis at home. I had dragged CTP from the attic and was happily playing, while my girlfriend was feeling bored and depressed. She had had enough of The Sims and Rollercoaster Tycoon didn't impress her much. So I came up with a bold plan. Our computers are connected, so I said "let's play CTP multiplayer". At first she wasn't convinced (she is an RTS girl) but when I promised I would be friendly and allied she decided to give it a try.
Now, three days later, we are fighting over the CD. I start up the game and then give her the CD so that she can play. "You've seen all the movies anyway" is her reason for playing with the CD.
It seems we have a convert. This "I will never play this boring TBS crap" person is now spending hours pressing End Turn
It'll be interesting to see who will be first to buy Civ3 when it comes out...
Anyone have a story of converting the pagans to the real God of game-genres?
