Greetings. I am MasterSreg. Although I've had C:CTP for about a year or two now, I've only recently decided to seek out its gaming community. I've become very interested in modding it and designing scenarios, particularly ones that focus on small, conflicted regions. I have only begun to realize what the game engine is capable in this field. Playing the normal game does not interest myself as much playing on giganitc maps, hordes of civs, and other quirky conditions.
I'm likely to post mostly in the Creation area, as I already participate in two other major game forums.

I was also a great mod of Civ2, as I would stay up all night creating desolate worlds and mutant armies. This can only be more fun...

Actually, I would like to recommend you get Call to Power 2 here. The game is very similar to CtP1 in all gameplay aspect, the most important changes being removal of space layer and max stack size increased to 12 units, but what matters is that CtP2 is far more moddable. Yep, even more moddable than CtP1. For example, because of the many problems with the original CtP2 game, the modmakers made Apolyton Pack, which goes a long way in fixing the problems and making a new AI.

Also, there are many more people who are actively modding CtP2, such as hexagonian, Locutus or Martin Guehmann, so you should always have something to do with it.

I agree, however, I haven't the game. I may decide to purchase it very soon, but until then, I'll have settle for CtP1.

Welcome, good to see another mod/scenario maker

Don't worry though, CtP1 is excellently suitable for mod- and scenario-making as well. And people like Martin, J Bytheway and myself regularly visit the CtP1 forums too, so if you need any help/feedback/etc, don't hesitate to post...

Wonderful. I intend to purchase the game soon, as soon as I get around to it. .>:{D-

(Oh, that would be the Sreg smilie. I have two piercings (eyebrow and labrette), as well as a gotee, so that would be me.)

To relate my previous experiences, I made several Civ2 scenarios and a dozen mods, I've made many StarCraft melee and UMS maps, and I've made a few Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge maps and have done some work with its trigger system. My favorite parts have always been making the details on terrain and creating triggers. Although I have no knowledge of C (as that is what SLIC is based on, unless I am mistaken), I'm always willing and eager to learn new things. .>;{ )-

Well, I suppose this is a more or less complete intro thread. Have fun.

Awww..what does he know stick with the beautiful FIRST LADY known as Call To Power, CTP:2 is ok, but its like Dolly, a Sheep-Clone ...

Seriously, modding is pretty easy here, once you get past learning curve, just your imagination then my friend!

And by the way, Solver IS Allways right, his Apolyton-god-given powers tell him so so he will help guide you on most all matters, just stick with the "Old Gaurd" of CTP:ers here, we will not lead you astray
