A problem with broadband and ctp...

Hello all. I am new to these forums. I have a problem with ctp and my cable modem. When I select internet game in multiplayer setting I get a message that says I must have an active dial up connection to connect to the servers but I don't have dial up I have a cable modem that is always on. What do I do? It does not seem to recognize the cable modem as an internet connection.
