I think it's about time to next someone. We haven't seen a turn yet this year!

who is the person in charge of nexting people for this game anyway? i say we let Monsieur Darkheart sub in for Blackice or Birdman and find one more to take up the game so we can get moving again. The question then is who will be the "administrator" of the game that gets cc's of all the turns and decides when to next people? Where should we post to get another sub? At least we can advertise that they'll be taking over one hell of a civilization . . . whether it's for Birdman or Blackice.

i've posted in the recruitment centre that we need another replacement, i'll be mailing some guys as well to speed things up. About the moderator, I guess we should just forget about that for a while and take care of it ourselves.
You can cc me if you want, I won't be looking or playing any turns from anyone else than my own turns, but I can look for substitute players if someone doesn't play for a while (like 2 weeks or so). It's not perfect but it's a short time solution, that way we don't loose any turns because of someone not being active/there.

Ok, so here is the new list of players:
GIANT BIRD GAME
YosemiteKen, Ivan of Russia
(replacing BirdMan)
thehappies, DonCarne of Mexico
M. Darkheart II, Creator of Assyria
(replacing blackice)
Gumpold, Franses of Egypt
On AI command, Taipan of China
(now dead) Dimytes, Aaginor of the Incan
Moderator:
CC all turns to M. Darkheart II
If that's ok with everyone, I'll send the last turn I played to M. Darkheart in the next day or so and we'll go from there.
I'll send this via email too.
I'm in the process of moving right now and I only get to check my email at the library every couple days (my computer is taken down). So for now, if nobody else minds, maybe we can give 2 or 3 days for a person to play their turn before we 'next' them.

I know we are getting down to slim pickings on these boards, but I have never liked games where a player is also the moderator.Fruity Oaty Bars! Make a man out of a mouse! Fruity Oaty Bars! Make you bust out of your blouse! Eat them all the time! Let them blow your mind...ohh! Fruity Oaty Bars!

We could just not cc the turns to anyone. Would that be better? Just send the turn to the next player and don't cc anybody.
Or does anybody know someone else that would could volunteer to be the moderator for the game?
I'm going to go ahead and send my last turn to M. Darkheart. Some game is better than no game. But we should make some kinda decision about moderator or no moderator.

we can cc a copy to all, each time with the persons name for each turn in the subject line like "giant bird - m darkhearts turn ##. that way we can all track it and keep it moving. as far as having each persons turn sent to all, we all have to trust each other on cheating anyway. and cc-ing to all is not really that much trouble anyway. just make up a slot in your address book for all the names and it is just one click. Ken/dancemasseuse
thank you for allowing me in. I haven't seen the turn/game yet, but I just like playing.
and in case anyone is wondering why such a weird handle as "dancemasseuse". I am a massage therapist, own my own clinic, and continuing education facility and I specialize in dancers. I have worked on ballet dancers from compaines all over the world. so therefore I am the dance masseuse (massage therapist).

It'll be interesting to see what you guys do with these two ultra-powerful civs compared to how Birdman and Blackice were running things.
So what's the final consensus on a moderator?
a) cc Darkheart and let him be the moderator
b) cc nobody and have no moderator
c) cc everybody every turn
d) find somebody outside the game to be moderator
In the case of b and c we'd need to decide under what circumstances we will 'next' people.
I vote for 'a' and if that doesn't fly I vote for 'c'.
