  • Know a CtP related website? Be a man and submit it!

Do you know the URL of a Civ related website that isn't known by the larger audience or isn't indexed by search engines? Maybe you have a personal Civ II scenario repository somewhere out there? If your site or the site you happen to know isn't listed on the DMOZ directory of the Open Directory Project, do yourself and the online Civ community a favour and submit it to the ODP or post the URL here. It's very possible that the site is already listed on DMOZ as there's currently 313 Civ related links indexed (65 under "Call to Power Series"), but not all sites have yet been added. Especially any Civ II, CtP or CtP2 related websites are on the wanted list.

For reference and to check if the site is listed, visit the Civilization Series categories on DMOZ.

Thanks on the behalf of the ODP; the largest Internet directory maintained by volunteers!

Rasbey, AFAIK there are not many other CtP1/2 sites, mainly due to the games lack of popularity

        Guess you are right Redbull.

We are only a few handfull of fanatic players left - and occationally some "visitors".

A pitty I say - playing this game either as PBEM or MP is a great challenge.

In SP it is only a challenge with the MedMod installed.

            - you are right. I do also make small changes on that mod.

More movepoints, units from modern age and later never goes obsolute.... things like that.

Glad to see others also enjoy "tweaking" gamefiles for variances in gameplay!!

                Thanks for the comments!

The current CtP and CtP2 coverage of DMOZ covers 65 links and that means there's not many sites out there that haven't been listed. Most of them are reviews that I haven't seen yet.

If you ask me as a non ODP Editor, my comment on this issue that Poly is the home of the CtP online community.

As someone who used to work for Activision (even if only as a tester), currently works for Apolyton and has been involved with the CtP series for 4 years, I can savely say that we don't need ODP Editors to tell us that

Seriously though, guys, you may want to check out the CtP section of that dmoz site (here), it's probably got more CtP-related sites than you've ever seen together before. A lot of these were in my personal archive (in fact, I gave most of my personal archive to Rasbelin a while ago ) but there's even a few that even I didn't have (and I've been collecting links for years).

                  Rasbelin, a couple of comments:
                  (1) in the CtP1 (P)Review section, you didn't include the *huge* preview Apolyton gave: http://apolyton.net/ctp/previewindex.shtml
                  (2) In the Tournaments section, you only mention 1 SP Tournament section, you left out the MP Tournaments that exist for both CtP1 and CtP2 (see topped threads in CtP2-General and CtP1-MP). Also, you may want to make more clear that the Tournaments you *did* mention are SP Tournaments, not MP ones.
                  (3) Also, clan sites such as Skaven and Guardians are not mentioned at all, they revolve around organizing (SP *and* MP) tournaments, more so than Apolyton. Gameleague and Battlefield deserve a mention in the Tournaments (and/or MP) section too, even though Gameleague is dying and Battlefield is gradually moving away from CtP coverage...
                  (4) One site that I neglected to give you was FRITZ's website: http://home.t-online.de/home/dteetz/ It's in German but it's good

How about Martin the Dane's site? It has CTP/CTP2 files such as tileedit and the zsf reader... I can't remember the link, but I'm sure that soemone here can help out with that

Martin the Dane's site is already mentioned here and I gave that link to Ras a couple of weeks ago so he should already have it.

Hmm, I guess I'd better PM Ras so he has a look at this thread...

Right now the Civilization Series category is the largest single link archive on the net. It beats Apolyton, CFC and Yahoo! (well, who wouldn't beat it ).

I'm very thankful for the page with links you directed me to.

Looks like you're right. Added now.

I only list tounaments that have their own site, pages or a forum.

I noticed something like that, but I didn't do anything to it yet. I'll see if things change.

Yes, it looks good, but it's not my territory as it belongs in http://dmoz.org/World/Deutsch/Comput...e/Civilization, but I'll make a submission for it.

Yes, it was bagged and tagged on 5.11, so it has been there over 1 month now.
