  • Listening Posts, or Radar?

What are better, Listening Posts, or radar posts.

Radar it has a bigger vision range IIRC. But it is more expensive and you get it later in the game.

Radar requires you to look at the minimap to see anything. And I rarely look at the minimap, so I tend not to build radar... But essentially Martin has summarised the situation.

I never build a radar - but I do build listening post when I think it's worth the money.

If you are in a continetal game, then try do it at the end of a road to "nowhere" - remember you can build any installations anywhere as long as you have (and control) a road to that place.

In an island game, you can place sonars along your tunnels in the late game (and if I remember right - airfields and listening posts on islands "touching" your tunnels).
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

I almost never build radar stations. I do build listening posts, but if you are wanting to build a ton of them, you might as well go for the GlobeSat wonder.
