Alien Victory

Hi...

I am pretty new to the game.
Last week i aimed my game to the "Alien Victory".
When i had finished the research i had a small movie where the alien open it's eyes, and then only the image with the empty glass. Did i miss something? i expected something more impressive...
I've won but don't know exactly why...what's the backgroud story to it?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. As I recall, the movie should have given you a message saying "Victory is Yours!" You should also have seen a victory screen where you can view your tabulated score and all the wonders you had at the end, and a message that you will go down in history as "[insert your nom de game here] the Civ Lord."

The conquest-victory movie is slightly more impressive. Slightly.

The background story is that you found some Alien DNA in a wormhole and synthesize alien life from that, thrusting mankind into a new 'universal' era, or something like that... you can deduct the story from reading the Great Library and manual. I agree it's certainly not brilliant but at least it's original...

Ok...

I just thought that maybe i would get to have contact with aliens or so...something like getting the chance to see what's on the other side of the wormhole. In the book it says that you may get a surprive when you achieve this, but it isn't really the case.

alien victory - wont work for me

I have just bought call to power and I am attempting to build the X-lab. I have sent numerous wormhole probes into the wormhole and I get the message to start building an x-lab but when I go to do it I can't find it in the constrction list. I am wondering if this is a bug or if there is a patch available or else am I missing something????? I am running XP
