Ist there some way to win in the Deity level without being almost all time in war?
It took a long time but I am about to win my second game in this level. The first one was just a "warm up" with 4 civilizations, this one has a big map, 8 civilizations.
At this level I cannot keep with science and power peacifully so I have decided to be really bad. As soon as I could, I started to slave my enemy. I did not move my trups and slavers from my territory, I just tried to slave everyone who dared to come near my cities, with few exceptions. With my big cities I could destroy one civilization, build Edison Labor. I discovered Facismus and started a big war. By this time, I was already the most powerful, but the second and third were very near. Now the tecnology difference small, I am more advanced thanks to the Edison Labor. And soon I am going to have to change my govermment from Facismus, too many cities... I have to do something very stupid to loose this game, even the Alien Project will be no hope for the other civilizations, they are just too weak...

I have to kinda laugh because this sounds so much like the game I'm playing. I had overrun three of my seven rivals and was working on my forth when I starting butting heads with the max cities limit of my fascist government. I started investing in happiness improvements, then I discovered Robotics, which obsoleted my London Exchange. I was not prepared fo what a drastic turnaround that would do for me economically. I decided to sue for peace (temporarily) and take care of things at home. I went through about a century and a half of debt, chronic happiness troubles (in spite of having Contraception), and pollution woes. I scaled back production, invested heavily in recycling plants and even sold some oil refineries and airports. Unfortunately I was only able to delay the inevitable. As I was the super-empire and the only one with modern technology, global warming was pretty much my fault, and so I guess it was appropriate that mine was the only empire whose cities got flooded. I estimate the death toll was fifty million.

Things are much better now. The Gaia Controller is now in place. So is the Nanite Defuser, so I've closed off that desperation play by my enemies. My economy is producing bigger surpluses than ever. Revolts are coming less frequently, and mind controllers are being constructed in some of the problem cities. Civilization #4 has completely fallen, Civilization #5 is on its last legs, Civilization #6 is starting to be annexed, and Civilization #7 was never any threat.

I have found two ways to beat it without being all tyime war. the first oneI built twenty five cities in good spots close to eachother and just built up the defence. I then focused on pop size only for the rest of the game( ill new at this point. I was behind most of the game, but towards the end the comps smaller cities could not keep upp with the science and production of twenty five citie s of over fourty population. By the time I was to fusion tanks I just built a ton of them and watch the enemies fal like dominoes( I built ALP also, but that was such a let down after so much time building my empire.

The second way i beat it I built two cities then put a phlanx and slaver in each, then I built eight mounted archers and a slaver. I then found a nearby enemies cities and patroled there. I built up each of those cities to around thirty five with slaves, and tyhen I built six more cites. The archers died eventually, and I simply stayed in my territory. I was so far ahead of the comp at this point it was laughable. When I started sending out ninestacks of tanks, the computer was just getting muskateers.

Generally no the AI will press for war each time. I have a game going now I wiped the AI out early. 86,981 science 169% score. 116 cities in vertual democracy, I hope to crack the 200% score by games end. I have not done that in CTP yet. City size adverage is 26 and pollution 0%. Most all cities are on infrastructure as there is nothing left to build lol.
