Stealth Units-Question concerning the exact uses of

I see the Corporate Branch takes Production from a city, where does that production go?

Does it go to my civilization as a whole?

Does it go to a particular city?

Concerning the Lawyer, does my civ reap any reward except the other civs problems with producing?

I think the stuff of Corporate Branches goes to the civilization as a whole, although I have no idea how that works in practice (does every city get an equal amount of production points? does it go to PW? does it reduce crime losses?)

I'm fairly certain that the Laywer benefits only hurt the other civ, it doesn't give you any (extra) resources.
