    Hello,

I am not sure if the question as answered before, but I don't have time to go searching through the site so I will just ask it and hope it gets answered.

When I go to Multiplayer and join a "INTERNET" game there is only one server up so I click to join it and after about a minute it says "Could not Join Lobby". I contacted support and they don't know what is wrong - said they will look into it though. But until then does anyone know a sulution or why it is doing this?

    Thanks

I have the same problem but assumed it was because I use a filtered ISP. Are you behind a firewall of some sort when trying to connect?
Are you ready for the tomorrow that will never come? We will all have one.

Not that I know of although, but I might be. I have no clue how to come out from behind the wall if I am. Will have to ask my support.

I had a similar problem, and it might be that you might have a broken or out of date servers.dat file - would you like me to e-mail you a copy.

              servers.dat file

servers.dat file can be found in the ctp multiplayer forum at the bottom of the first page of the internet game thread, it was posted by BerXpert (I think). Just go there and down load it.

Sorry, but I can't even find that thread. I will take a copy of that file though.

Never played multiplayer - is it worthwhile?

I have a Pentium II Compaq laptop and am connected via a 56k modem. Does this work? What is the arrangement with Multiplayer: do you each take one turn a day? Doesn't it just take forever?

There are two types of multiplayer games, email and network.

The email (PBEM) is probably the one you are referring to above. The standard rules each player has 24 hrs to play their turn and send to the next player. This does take a while for the game to be played.

Network play is more like head-to-head against other human players (similar to playing the AI in single player). The speed of the game would then depend on how fast each player plays their turn.

                    HTH,
