  • Turning off the 'Y wrap'?

In CTP2 there was a map editing option to make the world flat without the edges connecting. Is there a way to do this is CTP?

I would like to start a Eastern Mediteranian scenario for a PBEM. But the thought of the E.Mediteranian being round bothers me too much! Being able to travel from africa to persia..

    anyway can it be done?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit userprofile.txt (in ctp_program\ctp) and find the two lines XWrap= and YWrap=. Set them both to 'No'. This will cause all games started to be flat map. In addition, if you put XWrap=No, YWrap=Yes then you get a vertical wrapping map, so you can dgo off the top and end up at the bottom, but not left/right...

(I have not actually tried this myself, just read the userprofile.txt FAQ)

        J Bytheway, Saddam/Faded Glory (I hate namechanges!),

That technique doesn't work, there is something wrong with it. I don't remember exactly what the problem was anymore (it's been a while) but I think it screws up the AI or something (you'd have to search the archives for details). Of course in PBEM this may not matter. I made a Flatmap mod with SLIC many months ago, I sent it to Markos for posting in the database but I'm not sure if he posted it. If not, I think it's still on my own website too.
