  • creating new scenario

I'm pretty new to the ctp mod scene.......

i want to create a game that stays in the ancient period or goes up no further than renaissance - i knowthe multiplayer has this option.....i wish single player did

i want to use the earth map (i found one) and use more than 8 civs.

is there a scenario like this out there already or should i create it?

or should i just wait for civ3?

It is easily possible in CTP2, and almost certainly possible in CTP. The easiest way would be to get the scenario gamefiles, and delete any reference to later ages, advances, wonders, buildings and units. Then adjust the game years if you want, and that should be it. Easy.

Oh, and make sure you get it all out of the AI files as well, or you'll get thousands of errors.

        See

for help editing CTP in any way.

With respect to your idea in particular, you might want to start from the MedMod (see http://apolyton.net/wes/), since that has more units, improvements and wonders in the appropriate time span.
