Okay, I've tried to install CTP on my new computer about 59762563 times now, and still no success. 
After between 5 and 20 % of the files have been copied, one or more of the following things happen:
- The screen goes blank.
- "Setup has screwed up completely, and will be exterminated".
- The computer locks up completely (with the sound stuttering horribly).
- The computer reboots!
Anyone know what is going on, and more importantly: How to fix it? Then PLEASE help me!
My system is:
Athlon 1200 MHz
256 MB RAM
Geforce 2 GTS
Windows 98
Dx8

), I finally got it working again! 
It turned out that it was not a CTP-specific problem, as I (rather by accident) found that I had problems installing another game too. For a while I thought it was a graphics-card problem (and thus tried numerous settings and drivers), but it turned out that it was in fact a CD-ROM problem. I tried different settings, and finally found that disabling DMA (whatever that does...), decreased the speed of the file-copying very much, but also somehow got rid of the crashes! 
So I'm up and running again!
