Errors in library

I'm playing with the official 1.2 patch and the unofficial 1.21 patch. Every time I select an article in the library in-game, I get an error that I have to alt+tab to to OK, after which the game carries on as though nothing happened. Can I do something to get rid of the error? Here's the error:

Message: Unable to open the file. Error#-2147220969.

See this thread. As far as I know CtP1 and 2 use the same format for wonder movies so I'm guessing the videos in the CtP1 great library use the same codec.

I've tried installing the indeo codecs from here but only some of the videos in the folder mentioned play properly. In-game, everything is exactly the same as before. The intro movie still doesn't play apart from sound either. Is there a specific version of the codecs I need?

EDIT: Never mind, setting compatibility mode for windows 98 fixed everything.
