To Keygen and thebirdman: Just to make sure I am not misunderstood, While I do like a faster start, that did not mean it was the only game I would play. I will play anyone. I am kind of a junkie and have withdrawals if a day goes by without a game.
I just do not want the beginning 1 settler game. I also prefer that 10 settler mod, but will play the 5 settler one. The other thing I dislike is, I would prefer someone to use the editor to and make sure we are starting a game that at least has us in reasonable starting positions. I have wasted too much of my time on a game either I could not win or the other guy could not win. While I realize some games it is more the way the person played it as to who wins, we are all good enough that sometimes the starting position dooms us no matter what. I think I beat keygen in a superleague game that I started on a river that ran over 25 squares long and he was on a tiny island so I ran over him. If this was not keygen then I forgot who it was. In another against keygen, I think we have only played 2 over the years, the opposite happened and I did not have a chance. I just want to play a game that both side have a somewhat even start. While real life does not work that way, this is a game and we can choose one that is more even if someone sets it up for us.
Also keygen the last email I had from you was you were going to send me a PBEM game. I wrote back a couple of weeks later and you said you forgot, then I never heard from you again. that was probalby a year ago. I am not complaining, just mentioning it. Send me a game and I will play.
Yea bird I like to give a bunch of Gold and PW so that if you grow your city fast in about 100 turns we are modern warfare and our cities have all the best things in them. I use the money to rush buy the granary, aquaduct, early. then once I get a little bigger I can rush buy mills, markets, and banks. It just makes the building phases go faster. I do not want all that gold for units, I want it so I can rush buy those buildings in the city. Like I said, jsut to make the game go faster. I like to fight, smile. So this lets it happen in 2 months instead of 6 months.
I know you all have different arguments about why you like it different. That is fine too. I am not complaining here, just explaining what I like is all and why I like it.
Keygen if you want to revive any games please let me know. I will play. We have started and restarted so many I am surprised you are not frustrated by all your efforts. I thought we had about 6 of them going well that I was in and then they just stopped. I still have the last turn I got in about 10 or 12 different games if anyone wants to revive any.
