I've noticed that I can often get a new tech in a turn sooner by lowering the pay for my workers. But later at I can raise the pay at least some and often quite a bit without losing that turn. I'm wondering if this is just due to growth or if I am messing with a bug and don't even realize it. Do you know? The end result would be more turns at low rations and longer work days, I guess.
