  • Multiplayer LAN Problem

    Hi.

I have recently installed a LAN in the house and am trying to set up a multiplayer game between two computers.

Using the TCP/IP LAN option, both computers will enter the lobby, but do not see each other on the list of players.
However, when one player creates a game the other can see the game and attempt to join it, but the game is shown as 1 player and a window with "game full" is returned.

    I am running XP

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try to turn off the Win XP firewall on all the computers used for playing?

I have a similar problem to this, my wife and i like to play a lot of games together, and get that same message. difference is:

we are both on win 2k

there is no firewall issue, as there is no firewall installed on either computer

      any other ideas?

Its outside of the LAN. 4 pcs are laned, one has the connection up to internet (ICS) and two lan cards. so there is no firewall inside the attempt

You could try the Windows XP/2000 multiplayer fix for CTP2. AFAIK, CTP1 is using the same communication protocol.

              Did you patch your game.

If there is nothing to do install IPX protocol and use it.
