  • The single player league

    Hello all!

While sitting bored at my work due to not having anything to do I started to think about how to make a singleplayer/multiplayer hybrid league where you do not have to wait for the oponent to play their turns.
So I got the idea of a single player league where all play on the same map and compete about getting the best result on it.

    Suggestion how it should work.
    - 1 game is started with 1 player and 8 AI. The game is saved before doing any actions in the game and then distributed to all that want to participate.
    - Maximum difficulty selected.
    - Pollution on
    - Bloodlust on
    - Map settings to be decided.
    - Each 50th turn a saved game is posted on this forum or mailed to me for review. Also at the same time some parameters must be reported like number of cities and population (maybe something else too)
    - The game ends when you hit turn 250 or when all AI are eliminated, whichever comes first.
    - For each 50th turn you get score based on a few different paramaters like:
    * Number of land, space and sea cities.
    * Highest population count for each 50th turn.
    * Highest city count for each 50th turn.
    * Highest score for each 50th turn under the Civ score tab in CTP.
    * Eliminating all AI before turn 250
    - There is no limit on how many times you may play the game. Just make sure to make a note that you are posting results from a new game.
    - Timelimit is 3 months of the league and you may post as many matches you want during that time but only the best one will count.

Winner of the league is the one who get the highest score and will get the title. Apolyton CTP Singleplayer Guru

Rules to be decided but I think it should be light on the rules as long as no altered game code, saved files changed or built in cheat function is used. That is rushbuy trick, farm under city and such features will be alowed.

So, are there any interest in such single/multiplayer league?

Good idea Dimytes I guess people can come up with great ideas when they're bored

I would recommend that this and all future tournaments/contests are moved to the SuperLeague forum. That way we could turn SuperLeague to a League of - preferably - dedicated people who compete each other in any fashion someone can imagine. Yes, that could mean multiple mini - and fast - tournaments as well.
