This is all okay to me, except what do you mean by we don't keep what we build?

When do we know the peace period is over? Ahh let me guess, when I have a raging mass of destructive Grandpas pounding down my cities gates?

I save both, one in you folder (the one I send) and the one I played..for record keeping

Peace Peiod is whatever you and I agree upon

75 turns is about renaissance age and 125-150 is Modern

this way we get a nice decent civ buitl for better battles

as for keeping what we built

I was referring to no pirating the trade routes or pillaging mines,rr and listening posts

Okay I get you, I'm fine with leaving each others infrastructure and trade routes alone.

I know what you mean by better battles, the game really doesnt allow to you build much in the way of large scale armies in the very early stages or even sometimes later on.

Your terrain in the beginning of this game is crucial, the old river and woods squares really accelerate the early cities.
The first players gets the best terrain and it degrades from there till the last player gets the worst terrain.

But for some real awesome battles you really have to set up a scenario and go from there. I made a few of these scenarios with a friend who lives in the same town I do. We found some custom made maps and tweaked them and then set up a bunch of cities with great production and gave ourselves some modern armies and navies and went to battle. It also took some tweaking to get the cities right so they could support our armies and also not advance too much technolgy wise. We wanted to stay in the modern era as long as possible. It was really cool.

look, I do a lot of scenario making for strictly personal use..(sound like my old days in the 1960's and 70's when i was reefing it up.. ) but if you want we could do a pbem match with a scenario..

What I would like..LOVE rather would be a similiar setup as this..with a map say 220 X 220 versus 70 X 140

LOTS of rivers..I have played a lot with the various settings but usually have a hard time with randomly produced massive rivers
I have made it where I had X Four on good..

Let me know..I just havent played a MP or PBEM Match that way..

Sure I would love to play a game like that. Fine with rivers too.

Using the editor we built for each civ about 6-8 cities at approx size 10 cities, filled them full of the neccesary or agreed upon tech. Then surrounded the cities with half mountains, mined them. Then other half would be farmed green grassland. This would be on a large map as you mentioned. He would have 4 civs and I would have 4 civs. I think we didn't always play nukes though as our nukes could destroy stacks of tanks and marines too easily if remember correctly. Its been awhile. I will see if I can find those maps, scenarios they will be on a disc somewhere.

I have 2 pcs going and my 98 machine is set up waiting patiently for an mp game hopefully--just a mere 4 inches from this monitor
