How to load aircraft carrier?

I know, it's probably a stupid question but I'm absolutely flummoxed. I have my carrier parked in the ocean; I'm trying to load planes into it by directing the plane onto the same tile as the carrier, just as I do with other transports. But the plane simply sits over the carrier, and does not load.

I've searched through the manual; I've performed a search on this forum. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid. Can anyone tell me what?

Edit: I should mention that I'm playing the unpatched version of the original CtP.

Hmm, that shouldn't be a problem, the planes should indeed board as soon as they move onto the same tile.

Are you sure the plane fits onto the carrier? Some planes are just too big (Bombers, Nukes, Spy Plane and Stealth Bombers).

Bah, I knew I was doing something stupid. It has been years since I played CtP, and I forgot that the only plane that fits on a carrier is the darned interceptor.
