  • C-17 Transport Sprite-Unit Question

Here i am still playing with Scenarios..

I was going through and making some Scenarios after my Computer got fried..and going through units.txt file I saw where the C-17 Transport unit that is the "plane" for the paratrooper can only build 1 and cant actually be built..

i was wondering if it would be possible to have it be either a transporter of multiple units..or maybe increase the cost of a paratrooper and when it lands you get say 6 paratroopers?

Ok..I am asking hope the greats here maybe can answer for me

    Thanks

You can almost certainly introduce it as an air transport unit. I doubt that you could arrange for multiple paratroopers without a lot of ugly hacks, though.

      ok work with me

I am supposing here that I could:

      #1- increase transportation capacity

      #2-Remove the string "CANT BUILD"

#3-would I have to stop building Paratroopers or still build tem and use both wasy?

#4-I wonder if say I increased capacity, could I maybe put additional units to the single paratrooper?

      Just curious

Removing "CANT_BUILD" should suffice to make it buildable. You can then adjust the capacity to your desire, but I presume that it will continue to act in its role as paratrooper transport independantly of any use as a normal unit. When you build one specifically it will not contain paratroopers unless you put them in, and you'll never be able to use the ones which ordering paradrops creates for any other kind of transport.

But that is all partly guesswork. The only way to find out for sure is to try .

            Thanks Mr Bytheway

I tested by making Bronze working as its enabling advance (for testing purposes only)

            It worked no problem

(oh and when i discovered Bronze I switched and guess what same as Granary..)

no problems it flew and then i went back and changed capacity to 5 and it worked

i am not sure top number for transport..but my thinking if it will go will be 10..again need to try it out

BUT this is exactly what I wanted an airtransport

After all, even though a "single paratrooper" signifies a company not necessarily a single "soldier" it seems a more reasonable threat to have 1 stack coming..

Ok as i am writing I see that probably "9" would be the optimum number for a stack since thats the number your allowed on any given stack

            Ok..Ill keep posting

            Peace
