Observations Of Success

These are my personal observations from which my path to success has found helpful in PBEM

#1-concentrate on settler building until 40

#2-caravans for trade=science

#3-goods

#4-pw to increase terraforming abilities to increase city size

#5-exploration

These are what I have seen the very best do to succeed

Now I learned a recent game this:

an opponent was complaining of losing moola then all of a sudden they had 50,000 gold

I suspected something, but he did not cheat rather used an ingenius approach..he sold off lot of to generate cash

Just trying to share,without naming names what i have observed is the path to success

1-build lots of settlers
2-build lots of units to explore, espacially if ruins are on
3-build some city improvements
4-build some caravans...need to build more though
5-kill everyone

Since I'm used to ctp2 there are definitly alot of things I can improve on...
Biggest flaws:
-Maximizing trade/sceince
-Proper units to build for an invasion, and best way to carry it out
(though I think I know now)
-Research-which techs to research first- I'm to lazy to find my ctp tech tree and have been pampered by the GREAT goal feature in ctp2
-Which improvements to build, Buildings are much more important in this game than in ctp2....
-Tile improvements/micromanagement-could be better
