Can't get CTP to start on my new machine...



I've been installing CTP followed by the two patches to get it up to 1.21, but it Will Not Start. Have you had any problem running on XP? I've got XP on the other computer, and it funs fine there...ugh...

I have XP that I play my PBEM with and 98SE for MP games (partition on HD)

I do know that making compatitibility with 98 helped me with some issues..but XP you cannot reload saves in MP games

I am not sure why you cant play

I would 1 more time as it took me 4 times of installing to get it working

I believe Dimytes had same problem listed last week

Thanks for the help. I've been able to get CTP working, under Compatability Mode settings, but cannot getthe CSG files to run properly. When I double click on them it just starts the game normally. I know you are supposed to run a regular game of CTP under version 1.2 to allow the game to Rewrite the Registry, but even after doing so, no luck. I have the 1.21 patch installed.

Geez...what a pathetic way to bail on a game , huh?

Help! I need to continue getting my butt kicked!!!

No, restarting isn't the answer, at least not yet. I cannot get CSG games to open other than into the regular start-up screen. I have XP SP1 on my other machine, and it works fine there. Some tweaking of the registry is needed, I expect. In the meantime, I will try and play the turns on the old machine, as long as the wireless syatem I have just installed stays up.

So, let's keep playing our game...I am enjoying the challenges. No water makes the game Much Different, and Much more challenging. Especially when you start in the deep forest!

Settler has altered course. I will treat the 5 straight river squares (upon one of which your warrior is standing) as a western border for that region, and will expect you to do the same, yes?
