River & Mountain design help needed for scenario

I love rivers & Mountains....

In Const.txt file I see where percentages for rivers and lengths, ect.

I was wondering if anyone had particular success with tweaking the variables to make a large persentage of rivers, OVERLAPPING type river systems on a map.

In Cheat Mode I can..but was hoping to randomly generate a gaiagntic land map with lots of mountains & rivers..

Ok..DEJA VU TIME..

I remember asking and learning about through these forums..just wondering who out there had great success and if they remembered what the settings were?

I am off to tweaking the files..will check back & post what may be best..in mean time..jump in with any ideas

PERCENT_RIVER 100 # percent of land with a river on it
RIVER_LENGTH 500 # average river length
RIVER_CELL_WIDTH 40 # Size of cells to be searched for river starts
RIVER_CELL_HEIGHT 5 # (highest point in each cell)

The above figures are after 30+ testing variables....many crashes

PERCENT_RIVER 100 river gives decent coverage, but not "100%"

RIVER_LENGTH 500 seems to be pretty stable


RIVER_CELL_WIDTH 40 this is about the best results for widespread river coverage..I tried 100% and got -0- rivers, while smaller amounts such as "1" or "5" got minimal coverage

RIVER_CELL_HEIGHT 5 I tried using variables of this but found keping this allowed better coverage.

A few observations:

A few area got "clumps" with no river..while some areas were simply perfect..as if I had actually painted in with the cheat mode for terrain

for some reason I got river length up to 3000 for 4-5 tests and then had to back down to 500 to keep from crashing
