I just recently started playing this game. I'm a bit confused about the following: I launched an attack on a city using a fusion tank. It was defended by 5 primitive units, like a phalynx, for example. My advanced unit was defeated. Please explain! How can the equivalent of a bunch of folks throwing stones beat an armored unit that has advanced armaments?I just recently started playing this game. It´s one of those things, what makes rewiewers say CtP is a stupid game. I think CtP doesnt simulate armor more than bunch of extra hitpoints, and with enough primitive warriors you can destroy a high-tech fusion tank. Its quite un-usual, but that happens. The Chuck Norris military unit was not used in the game Civilization 4, because a single Chuck Norris could defeat the entire combined nations of the world in one turn.

It also makes sense to me that five primitives units can defeat a tank maybe not destry but defeat, these primitive units are agiler then the tank and can climb on it from ive sides, if one of then on the tank then the guy inside the tank is a little bit helpless isn't he.

Well, what does a "unit" represent? Is one unit = to one individual/vehicle? If that is the case I still don't believe that 5 men pounding their spears on the armor of a tank will defeat it. Has anyone played CTP2? Are more bonus points awarded to armored units?

If you were able to walk up to a tank, it effectivness will deminish once you pass the guns. How hard do you think it will be to run someome over with a tank. And those little holes you use for looking out, throw in a spear. Open the top and storm the tank. Warriors should be allowed to take command of an enemies tank if they defeat it in battle. So one guy turns to another guy and says "T.A.I." His friends says "What?" He responds by saing "Think about it;)"

Just watch out you never do know whom will Rat you out and then you wont have enuff Leviathan's to over come their spearmen!!

Back to the question though. CTP is a grand strategic abstract game covering 8000 years. The unit types are mainly for asthetics. It is better to think of the units' numeric strength than to envision a tank vs. a spearman. Think of 1 tank = 16 strength points vs. 8 fortified phalanx = 24 points. You'll go crazy trying to make practical sense of this unit vs. that unit.
