I am basically familiar with the smaller and medium size empire governments. however I am now at 111 cities and need to be able to attack and take more cities from my opponent and I have maximized my total number of cities. I have technocracy. do any of the more advanced governments have unlimited city ceilings? what are the ceilings for Ecotopia, virtual democracy, corporate republic. Ken/dancemasseuse

Corporate Republic=100
Virtual Democracy=120
Ok besides Wonders here is an option;
When you have some bigger cities put some citizens as entertainers
Or Try "tweaking" settings..like decrease work hours or increase gold or even increase food to offset unhappiness.
Try making sure Capitol is in the "Middle" of your Kingdom.
If you do wish to build this huge Kingdom, maybe pre-planing by not build so "Far-&-Wide" then you wont have the additional "distance from Capitol" to deal with.

thank you very much. I new the tweakers, but thank you for mentioning them too in case I didn't. I like to fight a lot so "far and wide" is necessary to maintain military advantages. otherwise in this case a compressed empire would mean it was hard to attack from
Peace

Do you keep every city you conquer?
Remember, you can disband cities of 3 or fewer population. If you've overrun Outer Slobbovia, and take a city of 2 that has no buildings and is located on tundra in the middle on nowhere, why not disband the city and send the settler to a better location? Plus in MedMod you can add that settler to an existing city.
After taking a city always remember to check how many work units the city has accumulated. You lose them the next round if they're not immediately assigned to some task. I usually use them to build a troop (unless they can immediately provide a Wonder) and then disband and move the settler to a better location.
And your city will grow by 1 the next turn, so beware its population becoming 4. Can't disband then! You have to either starve it or build a settler!

Havn't tried - but I have some suggestions (only for gamblers ).
I guess if you could make some cities very unhappy, "forcing" them to make a new nation - and then "kill" them by bombarding them to size 3 or 4 before taking it, then.....
Or use nukes before you are taking any city. That dirty action + the conquest of the city will most likely take it to size 3 or lower. If you are lucky, the nuking might even release a major flooding which often take many other cities out of the game .First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.
