  • Creation Primer

Has anyone thought to create a primer for making changes in CTP? I was wondering, as I just recently got my graphics program back, and am raring to go!

Specifically, I'd like to see an advanced unit creation guide, as well as a general mod creator. Most of the info is spread over a year's worth of Apolyton forums, and oftimes in threads that have little to do with the main topic. For example, how do some of you guys (and gals!) create those perfect units? I mean, shadows, animations, AVIs, and the whole ball of wax! Really, I'm impressed with the stuff being put out here lately.

By the way, I'm thinking of creating a mod with a more realistic treatment of religion and non-technical (i.e., not applicable to the military units) science. It'll give some special abilities to different types of religion and governments. I've been working a bit with Nordicus on it (even before I decided to try this), but if anyone would like to help I'd really appreciate it.

Katy and Myself use RAYDREAM 3D to create the models and then animate them and create the AVI's, TGA's animatons and shadows from them.

I only came across the RAYDREAM 3D in really early forum discussions when the sprite tool first came out.

Although I haven't used them yet this package also comes with sevral 3d models which could be converted to sprites (mostly modern aircraft).

This isn't the full blown RAYDREAM studio and in the UK cost about £70 i.e. twice the price of the game BUT I must admit I find it a handy little tool. I also use PSP5 but that is normally just for some quick editing to do with Shadow creation.
