    Having played many games of CTP modified many different ways, I have yet to play a game where I had ANY interest in building the first level agriculture PW improvement. Well, mulling this over, I just came up with a possible solution. (Hopefully this hasn't been tried yet...) Why not modify the second and third level improvement to take a prohibitive amount of time to build? Then any sane player would be forced to build the first level imp and then upgrade it instead of waiting the 20 or so turns for it to build. I don't think I would mind so much wasting that 200 PW to build the first one if I needed to eventually build it anyhow. Think of it as the settling the area completely or something. You could even decrease the cost of the later imps by 200, since you would almost always be building the 1st lvl imp and upgrading it. What do you guys think? Can you think of any problems that might pop up?

    I hate seeing threads go unanswered, so I thought I'd reply here, but I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, to be honest (must be the fact that it's 3AM here ). Could you rephrase that a bit please?

      I had often wanted to link the latter improvements to the earlier ones some way, but didn't know how.

      There is a link between the roads- railroads come up in one turn if built over roads, but take multiple turns otherwise.

      I wish you could link the costs, like Gyromancer suggested. It would definitely make things more fair.
