YAWC (Yet Another Windows Crash)

Windows without Cygwin:

Start -> Join Game -> Metaservers-> Update-> Crash ->Microsoft asks me to send crash report

Has anyone else experienced this before?
This is on XP Pro with a modern CPU.

I don't have XP so I can't test this. My suggestion is experimenting a bit. Does this happen everytime you try to connect? Do you have a proxy or firewall set?
