  • multi dither patch

    Hi Forumn,

I'm pretty new to Freeciv, very new in fact. But I've got it downloaded and installed on Linux Redhat 7.3. It's running fine and looks like a lot of fun.

I've been looking at the alternative tileset on the freeciv.org site and some of them say they need the multi dither patch for best results. Where can I get that patch from? I can't find it on the freeciv ftp site at all.

    Cheers
    Chris

You can find the eyecandy patch here:

What the multi dither patch does is spicing up the maptiles by adding extra's and making them less gridlike by letting them flow into each other. It's just nice eyecandy. You don't actually need to install it to use those alternate tilesets.

And yes, they do look prettier.

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
