I recall that Bernd T. Korz (btk@yellowtab.com) is working on a client for BeOS. I suggest contacting him directly. He even has some screenshots of the client (based on SDL?) so the project is active.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness.
