    Problem starting CIVSERVER

I try to start the server of the version 1.13 I had just donload, and the folowing message appear: "0:bind failed: Adresse déjà utilisée".
I translate the end of the message: "... adress allready used"

Do I have tos specify an adresse at the startup and how? I didn't find this in the FAQ.

NB: I am using a Mandrake 8.2, with KDE 3. Is there some knowen problems about this?

This appears to be some sort of IP configuration error. It means this particular port seems to be in use by another program. Or you're accidently running with another civserver in the background trying to use the same port.

    Try this:
    1) running the server on another port, with "./server -p "
    2) netstat -a | grep 5555
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
